Roger Daltrey has some new music on the way.  The Who frontman has teamed up with former Dr. Feelgood guitarist Wilco Johnson on the upcoming album "Going Back Home."

The singer tells the UK's "Guardian" he met Wilco at an awards show in 2010, and they bonded over their mutual love of Johnny Kidd and the Pirates.  Daltrey explains that the band, which was prominent in the UK in the late '50s and early '60s, was "a big influence" on both The Who and Dr. Feelgood.

Johnson credits Daltrey for spearheading the collaboration.  He says after The Who finished touring last year, "Roger jumped up and said, 'Let's do it.'"  He adds that Daltrey "knew this lovely little studio" where they recorded the album last November.

Going Back Home is slated for a March release.  Daltrey and Johnson will support the album with a show in London on February 25th.

"Going Back Home" could also be Johnson's final studio effort.  The rocker announced last January that he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  He added that he'd opted against receiving any treatment, and was told he likely only had nine or ten months left to live.
