President Trump is donating $1-million of his own "personal" money to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. At a White House briefing today, Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders revealed the president's intention. Sanders said President Trump would like help from the White House press pool in identifying the best organizations for donations.
Sanders also said that President Trump and First Lady Melania tentatively plans to visit Texas and Louisiana on Saturday to asses flood damage and relief efforts. The two traveled to Texas on Tuesday and met with first first responders.
