The 12th Annual Changing the Face of Addiction Recovery Walk returns to Sussex County as a family-friendly community gathering dedicated to raising awareness, showing solidarity, and breaking the stigma surrounding substance use disorders and recovery. The morning's festivities feature guest speakers, the National Anthem performed by the Geuther Girls, and a prominent American flag display presented by the Hardyston Township Volunteer Fire Department. Following the presentation, participants will embark on a low-key, 1.5-mile walk through the streets of Franklin to celebrate courage and connection. After the walk, attendees can gather to enjoy live music, local food options from Smokin’ Mo’s Southern BBQ and an on-site ice cream truck, complimentary refreshments, and a variety of children's crafts and activities.
The event takes place in Franklin Borough with check-in and family activities beginning at 9:00 AM, opening announcements at 10:00 AM, and the walk officially commencing at 10:30 AM. Activities and food vendors will remain available throughout the morning.
