Christmas Tree Placed In St. Peter's Square At Vatican

Hundreds watched as a crane hoisted the 68-foot spruce into place in St. Peter's Square. This year's tree was shipped in by truck from Poland. The tree was a gift from the Archdiocese of Elk in honor of Pope John Paul the Second, who was the first Pope from Poland He the started the tradition of placing a Christmas Tree in St. Peter's Square in 1982.

Children from various hospitals will help decorate the giant Christmas Tree.  Pope Francis will preside over the tree lighting ceremony on December 7th.
