Four People Hurt In Shooting At YouTube Headquarters

Four people were wounded after a woman opened fire at YouTube's headquarters in San Bruno, California this afternoon. CNN reports that three people were taken to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital - a 36-year-old man who was in critical condition, one 32-year-old woman in serious condition and a 27-year-old woman was in fair condition. A fourth person also injured an ankle while fleeing the building.

San Bruno Police Chief Ed Barberini told reporters press conference Tuesday afternoon that the shooter was a woman and is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Officials say early indications point toward the shooting was the result of a domestic situation. The incident does not appear to be terror-related authorities said. The weapon used was a handgun, but the model and type were not disclosed.

YouTube employees described the scene on Twitter, writing they had heard shots fired, and police sirens. People fled the building in panic after shots were heard, according to reports.

Video shot of the scene at YouTube's campus showed a heavy police presence outside the headquarters. A crowd of people were gathered near the building and were being frisked, one by one. Several roadways near the incident have been closed to traffic.

Vadim Lavrusik, who was at the headquarters when the shooting started, wrote on Twitter that he was working at his desk when he heard shots and saw people running. He wrote that he had to barricade himself inside a room with other co-workers.

Google (which owns YouTube) said they were coordinating with authorities and would provide official information from Google and YouTube from their @Google_Comms account.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai sent a note to all employees about the situation.
