Bon Jovi Postpones Shows After Flu Strikes Band and Crew

Bon Jovi's band and crew members have been hit with a flu virus less than two weeks before the act's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.

The illness has forced the band to postpone two Canadian shows on its 2018 North American This House Is Not for Sale tour.

"Unfortunately due to band and crew members being affected by the flu epidemic, the 2 Bon Jovi shows in Montreal have been rescheduled," read a post from the band's official Twitter account.

The Tweet added that the April 4 show has been rescheduled to May 17. The April 5 show has been rescheduled to May 18.

The postponements will give the band just a few extra days of rest before its scheduled performances in Bon Jovi's home state of New Jersey, April 7 and April 8.

There has been no word as to whether the band will be able to play those shows.

It's not clear whether Jon Bon Jovi is ill himself. But fans can bsure the band will do whatever it needs to do to be in tip-top shape by its headlining set at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony next weekend.

The band was reportedly thrilled at the news of its induction, with Jon calling say the distinction gives him a sense of "closure" on his musical career.

"All I really wanna do at this point is to do it at the best of my ability," he told The Pulse of Radio in December. "I've always said, I was never gonna pretend to be something I wasn't when I was a kid, and I'm not gonna go out there and be the 'fat' Elvis. If I can't do it at the level I've grown accustomed — I'm gone. So, this Hall thing was the last coda. But as long as I can do it and be healthy and happy doing it, I'll keep doing it."

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place in Cleveland on April 14. An edited version of the festivities will air on HBO at a later date.

The evening is an important night for Bon Jovi for another reason as well; it will be the first time since 2013 that the band will perform with co-founding guitarist Richie Sambora

"It'll be a joyous occasion," Sambora told Billboard. "I was [in Bon Jovi] for 31 years and we sold 150 million records or something and we put a lot of asses in seats in stadiums around the world and made a lot of people happy...I'm showing up for that."

Jon has maintained there is no ill-will towards Sambora and that the band looks forward to reuniting with him for the evening.

Bon Jovi is joined in its Rock Hall induction by the Moody Blues, The Cars, Dire Straits, Nina Simone and Sister Rosetta Tharpe

In February, Bon Jovi was honored as an iHeartRadio Icon at the 2018 iHeartAwards in Los Angeles.
