Bear Hunt is on for this fall despite Gov. Murphy's promises

Catherine McCabe is the Acting Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner.   At a Senate Budget committee hearing, Ms. McCabe said that a bear hunt for this fall has already been scheduled because the science supports a managed hunt.  The New Jersey Herald has the report on their website today.

According to a release from Jeff Tittel of the Sierra Club, an anti-hunt group, Ms. McCabe supports the hunt "because she backs the Fish and Game scientists who likely won't be changing the science to stop the hunt."

New Jersey governor Phil Murphy has promised a moratorium on the annual hunts pending further studies.

Here is the report in today's Herald from reporter Bruce Scruton.
