Hot Wheels were introduced in 1968 by the Mattel company. So the collectible die-cast automobiles are celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year.
My friends and I all had a Hot Wheels collection. I'd set up the track on the fireplace mantle. It would extend down the carpet, make it through the first loop-de-loop then head down the hallway. Some cars certainly went faster than others.
