As we approach Fathers Day weekend, this is such an inspirational story.
Maybe you heard the story about a guy from Huntsville, Alabama named Rodney Smith , who saw a guy struggling to mow his lawn. Rodney got out of his car to help him and it was at that moment Rodney was inspired to do something pretty cool.
In 2016, he started a nonprofit called "Raising Men Lawn Care" that visits the homes of single moms, veterans, and the elderly to mow their lawns for free. And it's all about getting KIDS to volunteer.
Hes getting a lot of interest. At least 137 kids have already signed up, and he's getting more and more every day. In an effort to get more kids involved, he also started something called the "50 Yard Challenge," where kids commit to mowing 50 yards in their own community for free this summer.
