The historic Ringling manor in Oak Ridge -- former winter home of Alfred Ringling of the Ringling Brothers circus family -- is on the market and listed at $800.000.
The Grand Manor was built in 1916 on a 4.5 acre parcel of land with access to Lake Swannanoa in Oak Ridge. Ringling held lavish parties at the 26-room mansion and even housed circus animals on 600 acres surrounding the property. Circus acts auditioned in the mansion. A plaque reminds visitors that this is the former estate of Alfred T. Ringling.
A special website with video and lush photography has been set up to showcase the property.
