Public ceremonies are planned for Hopatcong, Newton and Sparta to commemorate September 11th. Nearly 3000 folks lost their lives seventeen years ago in the most deadly terrorist attack ever in America.
Hopatcong will hold its annual ceremony at 10am Fireman's Park.
In Newton, Sussex County Community College will host a memorial ceremony at 9am on the College's Connor Green.
And in Sparta, the Elks Lodge will hold a ceremony on the plaza at Sparta Township Hall (at 65 Main Street) at 6:30pm.
