Newton Woman Arrested for Scamming Franklin Couple

The New Jersey Herald reports that Franklin police have charged Maria L. Grasso Pantalone of Newton with theft by deception after she allegedly scammed a Franklin couple out of $8000 in a phony business scam.

The couple claim that Ms. Pantalone offered them an opportunity to invest in a cigar lounge planned for the Shoppes at Lafayette in Lafayette and even offered paperwork for the deal.   The owners of the Village told police they have no record of doing business with Ms. Pantalone.   This scam might actually involve other people.   An investigation into the matter continues and may involve more arrests.

Here is the story from the New Jersey Herald.
