Imagine a gondola that connects Stewart Airport to Newburgh, then stretches across the Hudson River to Beacon. Newly re-elected U.S. rep Sean Maloney, a democrat, envisions a transport just like this.
"Imagine a Hudson Valley where you had high-speed gondola service connecting Stewart Airport to Newburgh to Beacon -- maybe even extending to the top of Mount Beacon for tourists," said Maloney on a recent call with reporters. Maloney's other transit ideas include bus-to rapid transit service between Port Jervis and Beacon.
