Deer Poacher Sentenced to Watch 'Bambi' Once a Month

"Bambi" as punishment?

Four members of a Missouri family were recently caught in a poaching case that spanned several years. Officials say the family killed hundreds of trophy bucks, mostly at night, and kept the heads.  The bodies of the deer were left to waste.

Lawrence County justice Robert George felt the crime was so horrible that he added a special bonus to the punishment of one the poachers.

According to court records:

"The defendant 'is to view the Walt Disney movie Bambi, with the first viewing being on or before December 23, 2018, and at least one such viewing each month thereafter, during defendants incarceration in the Lawrence County Jail.'"
