A string of car burglaries and stolen vehicles is currently plaguing Sparta.
The New Jersey Herald reports that four vehicles were broken into between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Items were stolen including money, prescription bottles and Christmas presents. The vehicles were parked on Fox Hollow Road, Morgan Drive and Lakeside Place.
On top of that, a 2009 silver Lexus G37X was stolen from the driveway of a home on Woodlawn Road between Monday and Tuesday. The Herald says the key fob was in the ignition.
Homeowners with surveillance cameras are asked to review their footage and see if it could help the detective bureau in their investigation. And car owners are urged NOT to leave their keys in the ignition.
