High winds last night into early this morning downed power lines across our region, as Jersey Central Power and Light works to restore the juice.
According to the New Jersey Herald, nearly 2000 Sussex County residents were without power this morning As of 1:30p this afternoon, that number is down to 835.
Power outages in Vernon caused the school district to close schools for today.
The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning which remains in effect until 6pm this evening.
