Tim Conway passes at age 85

Tim Conway, the hilarious comic actor who appeared in 'McHale's Navy' and on 'The Carol Burnett Show' passed away today at the age of 85 after a long illness.

Conway rose to stardom in the early Sixties on 'McHale's Navy,' cast as Ensign Charles Parker. Most folks will remember him as a supporting player on 'The Carol Burnett Show' where he was often teamed with Harvey Korman. My favorite sketch of theirs is "The Dentist." (The video is below.) Conway was notorious for cracking up Korman, who found it nearly impossible to stay in character and keep a straight face when he was on camera with Conway.

Tim Conway also provided the voice of Barnacle Boy on "Spongebob Square Pants."

"He was one in a million," Carol Burnett said in a statement. "Not only as a brilliant comedian, but as a loving human being."

Here's a piece from Variety.
