Looks like we dont have to be in Kansas to see a Tornado anymore.
For us living in the Tri-State area, tornados are NOT common.
What we experienced over the past few days in the Sussex County area was NOT the full power and destruction that a TORNADO can deliver. ( and we're VERY happy about that !)
Thankfully, the landscape of our area wouldnt allow for a tornado to reach its full potential because they need flat wide open spaces to gather speed.

Remember, during a tornado, its not the wind itself that does damage , its the debris flying around that impacts cars, homes and other structures.
