HI Everyone....just a little health update our boy BOWSER .
Could you imaging having a doctor say to you " We found some thing concerning about your childs blood test results ..we need to investigate to find out whats happening so we can start to rule 'things' out - we want to do some tests look for any sort or tumors, growths or abnormalities"
OMG...Just tell me now .... How Long Does He Have To Live ???????????????????
Yes thats dramatic first reaction but a normal one( at least for me) ! last month the doctor became concerned about some extremely elevated liver enzymes.
I dont know bout all that enzyme levels and blood counts - but I looked it up! Its confusing to say the least... ( copied from google search) Elevated liver enzymes found in the blood—like alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate transaminase (AST), and alkaline phosphatase (ALP)—can indicate a problem. ( naturally CANCER is the biggest concern)
If i got it right .. the specific enzyme that we have an issue with is the ALP. According to the Vet, normal level should be around 140.. ours is 860 ( I know.. scary)
It was a rough couple of days between ( worrying) scheduling the tests , having Bowser stay overnight in the hospital ( worrying), and the WORST PART (worrying)...waiting for the results.
BUT...TODAY Im happy to report to you here that TEST RESULTS ARE BACK...
and I quote "' they ' reported a structurally unremarkable abdomen...meaning we didn't see any evidence of cancer anywhere..we didn't see any problems with the liver or spleen, the adrenal glands are normal size. We didn't see any evidence of tumor on the adrenal glads so, the things that we were most worried about - have been RULED OUT ! "🎉🎊💓📣🏆🎼🍀🙏🥳
NO CANCER FOR BOWSER !
THANK YOU UNIVERSE !
They wanted to do ultrasounds to look for tumors and growths Moving forward we monitor his diet more strictly, maybe add some natural supplements - and retest his bloodwork in a few months !
It made me realize how many minutes I waste every day ignoring my best friend... playing on my phone or doing mindless chores while I could be paying attention to and engaging him. It also made me question how much I do this with the people in my life.
Our time here on this planet isn't a contract that comes with a built in 'birthday' guarantee"... We have to make the most of each and every day - every moment , before there aren't any moments left !
Cant thank everyone enough for the concerned thoughts and messages about our boy. Its heartwarming how many of you love this remarkable "shelter dog" !
Our JOURNEY CONTINUES !
To all of you who have met him or for those who still have yet meet him - a photo album of happy moments we've shared over the last ( almost) 5 years!
