Sussex Democrats Seek Removal of County Chair Over "Tampon Turkey" Video

Members of the Sussex County Democratic Committee signed a no-confidence letter which seeks the removal of chairwoman Katie Rotondi. According to the New Jersey Globe, 65 members of the committee signed the letter which accuses Rotondi of "inappropriate and unprofessional behavior" and specifically references her involvement in a 2015 YouTube video that uses a turkey to demonstrate how to use a tampon.

The no-confidence letter claims the video was "discovered and distributed widely online by a Republican operative throughout Sussex County bringing embarrassment and disgrace to the SCDC." It also alleges that Rotondi "prioritized her personal interests above the interests of the SCDC" and that she "publicly advertised her close working relationship with certain public officials in order to bolster her own authority."

Rotondi, whose term is up in June 2021, reportedly told the New Jersey Globe that she won't be "bullied into stepping down" and that she's been an actress and comedy performer for about 10 years.
