Queens of the Stone Age have canceled the rest of their July tour dates as frontman Josh Homme prepares for "emergency surgery." The band shared the scary news in a Facebook statement.
"QOTSA regret to announce that Josh Homme must return to the United States immediately for emergency surgery," the statement reads. "Every effort was made to push through and play for you, but it is no longer an option to continue." No other details about Homme's surgery or condition were revealed.
The band is currently on tour in Europe and canceled eight shows from July 10 to 27 that include festival appearances in France, Slovakia and Romania, as well as headline shows in Germany, Austria and Greece. The news also comes just days after QOTSA announced they were planning to become the first band to perform live in the Catacombs in Paris.
QOTSA have more European tour dates scheduled in August, as well as a handful of US dates with The Kills in September and October. See the full statement and a list of tour dates (including canceled ones) below.
