The tri-state area is set for a brief respite from humidity today, with temperatures expected to hover around 90 degrees. However, another heatwave is predicted to hit early next week, with temperatures likely to soar into the mid-90s. The forecast also indicates a chance of thunderstorms tomorrow and Saturday.

AccuWeather predicted a hotter than normal summer for the region, with more 90-degree days compared to last summer. The heatwave is expected to continue into the early part of next week, with highs reaching the mid-90s from Monday through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

In addition to the heat, parts of New Jersey are experiencing drought conditions due to a lack of rain. Residents are urged to stay hydrated and take precautions to avoid the heat as the region braces for another bout of steamy, summery weather.
