Who remembers Jungle Habitat in West Milford?

Jungle Habitat was a Warner Brothers-owned theme park that operated in West Milford, New Jersey from the summer of 1972 through October of 1976.  Like Action Park, today Jungle Habitat has a rich history of memories and mishaps for those who remember it.  A man was attacked by a lion.  A woman was bitten by a baby elephant.  There are also stories of animals who escaped and were found days later in the neighboring towns.

The terrific website Weird New York has a section devoted to Jungle Habitat with great photos and stories.

And there are several videos on YouTube including some old home movies and mountain-bike excursions through the park long after it closed.

A movie called "Action Park" is in production right now.  The sequel should be "Jungle Habitat."
