From New York to D.C. in 29 minutes?

Imagine that -- going from New York to Washington DC in less than 30 minutes.  Currently, it takes about five hours to drive, three hours on the Acela train, a flight will take just under three hours.  Heck, you can't go from New York City to Franklin, New Jersey in less than 30 minutes.

Entrepreneur Elon Musk says he's received a government go-ahead to make his Hyperloop dream a reality.  And the ultimate goal is an underground system that will get travelers from New York to Washington DC in 29 minutes, with stops in Philadelphia and Baltimore.  The New York Times has the story.
