Efforts continue to pull plane out of Lake Aeroflex

NJ.com reports that the plane that crashed into Lake Aeroflex yesterday was still submerged underwater as of this morning.  A professional salvage team was being called in today to assist in recovering the single-engine aircraft.

The pilot has been identified as John Wells.  Wells was attempting to take off from Aeroflex-Andover Airport, but ended up crashing into the lake, which is adjacent to the airport.  Wells was taken to Morristown Medical Center and treated for back and ankle injuries.

Attempts to pull the plane out of the lake were abandoned yesterday when members of the dive team began to show signs of hypothermia.

The cause of the crash is unknown and is under investigation.  There were no passengers on the plane.

Here's the story filed by Katie Moen for the New Jersey Herald.
