A pilot crashed his single-engine Piper PA-32 airplane into a wooded area near Greenwood Lake Airport yesterday afternoon, per a report in the New Jersey Herald.
The crash occurred near the former site of the Warner Bros. Jungle Habitat property. The state of New Jersey has owned that 800-acre property since 1988.
The crash caused a small fire and was doused by the Forest Fire Service. The plane took down power lines on its descent. 950 local residents lost power, which was restored to most by Wednesday evening.
The pilot was not identified.
