Sussex County May See First Winter Storm of the Season on Thursday

Put your snow tires on, stock up on ice melt, and grab your snow shovels because Sussex County may see its first winter storm of the season this Thursday. Daytime temps are expected to be in the low 30's and drop into the high 20's overnight. 

So how much snow will we get? Here's what the forecasters are saying:

The National Weather Service is calling for 1 to 2 inches of snow on Thursday afternoon into Thursday night with a mix of rain and snow before 9 a.m. on Friday morning. The rest of Friday will bring rain. was originally predicting 1 to 3 inches but now says we'll get 3 to 5 inches of snow on Thursday starting in the afternoon with a wintry mix that night and rain on Friday. 

Weather Underground is forecasting 1 to 3 inches of snow on Thursday afternoon with freezing rain overnight into a rainy day on Friday. 

Accuweather is predicting late Thursday afternoon will bring a coating of .2 inches up to 1 inch of snow and rain on Friday morning.
