There's a lot going on in and around Sussex County for you, your family and friends to enjoy. Check out these ten local activities and events to attend this fall.
1.Go apple or pumpkin picking at a local orchard. Check out our 2018 guide to local apple orchards here.
2.Explore Sussex County's best hiking trails.
3.Watch movies at the Hudson Valley Film Festival at the Warwick Drive-In on August 22 at 9pm. It's $10 per person or $20 for a family/full car and the audience will get to vote on the best film.

4.Visit the Sussex County Sunflower Maze. It's tentatively open August 24 to September 15th and is a beautiful backdrop for a family photo.
5.Eat your way through the NJ Taco Festival on September 7th. It's happening from 10am to 8pm at the Sussex County Fairgrounds.
6.Bring your kids to Sussex County Day on September 15th. This free event is from 12pm to 5pm at the Sussex County Fairgrounds and will have music, food sampling, giveaways, and vendors.
7.Attend Oktoberfest at Mountain Creek from 11am to 9pm on September 21st or 11am to 8pm on September 22nd. Enjoy over 100 varieties of beers/ciders/hard sodas/hard seltzers, authentic german food and activities for the whole family.
8.Go to the Franklin Fall Fest Carnival on September 26 to 29th at the Franklin Pond. Listen to live music, grab a bite to eat and enjoy fireworks on Friday and Saturday night of the Carnival.
9.Attend the screening of the 22nd Annual Manhattan Short Film Festival at the The Newton Theatre at 7pm on September 30th and October 1st. The nine finalists will be screened and you, along with audiences in 350 other cities, will get to vote on with the Best Film and Best Actor awards.
10.Visit the Harvest, Honey and Garlic Festival on October 12th from 10am to 4pm. This free event is at the Sussex County Fairgrounds and you'll be able to buy fresh, local products including honey, garlic, produce, cheese, and wine.
