Hampton Township's planning board unanimously approved plans to open a methadone clinic on Route 206 at the property formerly known as Kent Industries. According to the New Jersey Herald, the medication-assisted outpatient treatment facility, called Sussex County Aftercare Center, will be an expansion of the Morris County Aftercare Center in Denville.

The facility has some residents concerned about security, crime, and local resources.

Jeanne Marshall, the assistant clinical director of the Morris County Aftercare Center told the New Jersey Herald that the Hampton facility will have an armed security guard and an outside company will provide emergency medical services. When the Sussex County Aftercare Center opens Marshall will serve as the clinical director.

She said she anticipates the facility will open in January.
