The 2020 Crawfish Fest at the Sussex County Fairgrounds has been cancelled due to COVID-19. According to the New Jersey Herald, festival creator Michael Arnone announced the cancellation in a Facebook post on Friday.
Gov. Phil Murphy's regulations on travelers self-quarantining for two weeks played a role in the cancellation since Arnone and many of the festival's vendors and artists live in Louisiana. Additionally, NJ is limiting outdoor gatherings to only 500 people and last year's Crawfish Fest was reportedly attended by more than 10,000.
Next year's festival is set to take place on May 21-23 and anyone who purchased tickets for 2020 can use them for 2021.
